Merry Christmas!

Judging by the picture, it is pretty obvious we didn't get our wish for Christmas this year. We must not have been good. LOL. Aaron asked little man if he has his bags packed the other night and we are really hoping that he does. Our new goal is before the end of the year. Anyway, we didn't get our Christmas card done, so you'll have to wait for a new year's greeting/baby announcement probably sometime in January. This crazy blog post will have to do for now.
Merry Christmas from the Galmarinis
We'll keep you posted on the arrival of little man...

The Home Stretch...

So I guess we are in the home stretch. We passed the 37 week mark and baby could come any day. Unfortunately my doctor didn't give me much hope that baby boy will be coming this week, but I guess that could all change pretty quickly. I'm really hoping for an early Christmas gift this year, which means baby boy has 9 days to show his face to the world for the first time - fingers crossed.

I'm feeling pretty good these days, but very ready to not be pregnant anymore. And of course very anxious to see my baby boy. However until that day comes I should be taking full advantage of the time I have. Unfortunately, we have not been so diligent in doing that. We are still working on the nursery and trying to find motivation to finish up the various house projects left to be done. Plus I haven't done any Christmas shopping. What did I say - 9 days. Hmm... I'm hoping this weekend is a productive one.

Well, those are my thoughts for now... I'm hoping next time I post I will have pictures of the little Galmarini.

Fall Fun

This fall has been a "growing" experience for us, but more for Angie. Now about 8 months down and one to go she is glad to be done with working on her feet for a while.  We've been trying to spend lots of time together and with friends knowing time will soon become an rare commodity.  I've been working hard on getting some last minute projects done around the house, but until they are done, here are a few photos from the fall. We'll post pics of the nursery and 3rd floor as soon as they are completely done.

Ryan and Sarah came to visit in October.

We were happy to have Becca and Abby come over for a bit.

With Christmas right around the corner, we're hoping for an early gift.

The Long-Awaited Reveal

This past Sunday, family and friends threw us a baby shower. We wanted to make it fun for everyone so we added a bit of a twist and made it a reveal shower.

We gave the results from our 20-week ultrasound (which revealed the gender) to the baker (without a look on our part) so that the cake would reveal the gender of our little bean at our baby shower. It was definitely a fun way to find out. For those of you who could not make it to the reveal...
WE'RE HAVING A BOY!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO WAS A PART OF THIS SPECIAL DAY!

September...

I have always LOVED September. For me it has always felt like a fresh start, a sort of slowing down from summer and getting back into a routine. I look forward to the cooler months of winter and staying inside. I know most of you will disagree with my sentiments, but hey, we are all unique, right?

With September also comes birthdays for both the hubin and I. Aaron likes to say that God made him and decided He had to make the other half right the next day. He didn't want to waist any time or forget what he had to do to make Aaron work. LOL.
This year happens to be a big year for both of us. Not only because we have turned 29 for the second straight year, but also because we will celebrate 5 years of marriage in January and also have our first child right around that anniversary date. It seems we like to keeps things close in this family when it comes to days to celebrate. Funny how things work out that way.

So hears a pic of the birthday duo, who I'll admit happen to be 30. It's not your age that matters anyway, right?

Since it it such a big event to turn 30, or so people seem to think it is, we had a little get together with some friends.

We also had our annual TJ Rockwells outing with the Martin's and the Stoltzfus'. We happen to all have birthdays between July and September.

Thanks to everyone who shared in our birthdays! Life without people to share it with, would really be no life at all.

21 weeks and counting...

Baby Galmarini at 21 weeks

Mommy at 21 weeks pregnant

I guess we'll include daddy in one too.

Long Over Due...

So I've had several people request an explanation on the "Ron and Ela" thing. It's really very simple.

One day we decided that if we ever move away from our beloved Lancaster and into a world where no one knew us by Aaron and Angela (or Angie), we would re-invent ourselves as Ron and Ela. They have sorta become our alter-egos so to speak.

That pretty much sums it up in a nut shell.

A month... Really?

So I just realized it has been a month since my last blog. Seriously where does the time go? I guess it goes to to the whoopie pies, pumpkin rolls, muffins, cakes, mini-breads, and the assortment of cookies I bake every day. Speaking of work, I've decided that working 6 days is too much for the summer time. As you have read in my other posts, we have a lot of things we want to get done around the house this summer and I suppose my loving husband would appreciate a helping hand on Tuesdays. So yea, we officially have Tuesdays off together again.

This past Tuesday proved to be a pretty productive one. I'll admit, Aaron did most of the work, but things did get done. Grass got planted in the front and the shed got moved. I know it doesn't sound like a lot, but the shed being moved counts for at least 5 things. I want to give a shout out to the guys who helped make this happen - thanks so much Brock, Charlie, Dad and Brad.

At this point I'm just praying it doesn't turn over...

In the end, they managed the shed and got it right-side up and leveled in just under an hour. Way to go guys!

So next up for the yard is some much needed top soil and grass seed for the back yard. I'm hoping that gets done this next week.

Ok, so my new goal is to try and post something once a week. I hope to have something good to talk about next week. I'm sure I'll come up with something.

the yard mishap...

Last spring "Ron" decided he wanted to get rid of 1 of our 7 backyard trees, which I was all about doing since there are 7 of them in such a small yard. The one he decided to take down was a 25-30 foot maple. Being the wife, I assumed he would either get some help or hire a professional. I was just thinking about his safety, of course. Without warning, I came home one day and all that was left of this 30 foot tree was a 20 foot stump. That's right, my lumberjack husband decided it would be a good idea to cut off ALL the branches with a hand saw. I was just glad he didn't get hurt, and got home just in time to help him direct the large wood pole that was left in our yard. He was smart enough to borrow a chain saw for that part.

So now to the mishap...
What was left was a tree stump and various roots about the yard. Ron tried his best to take out the stump, but the stump got the best of him and all winter there it sat. So this spring we got a good price from a tree service and had them come out to grind out the stump and the roots. They brought out this remote control device about the size of a small car with a large grinding arm on the front. The stump was gone in a matter of minutes and they were taking out the rest of the roots, when IT happened. That's right, they hit a pipe. With a 100-year-old house, you never know what you are going to run into in the back yard. There was no water pouring out, so that was a relief, but that just held the suspense in the air. So we called out all the utilities, and it turned out to be nothing but an old wash line pole that was cut off and forgotten. Sorta makes me want to dig up the rest of the yard to see what kind of history I can find on the house. Too bad it would take all of my time and make my house look like an archaeological dig. On second thought... I'll just keep the mystery alive.

Next challenge for the husband... moving the shed. Anyone have any ideas on how to move a shed?

Recent projects...

Recently Aaron has taken to actually accomplishing things on the honey-do list. This has greatly enhanced our relationship... lol.

Anyway, here are some pics of the hedges getting ripped out... what a difference it makes.

Just for fun... here are some pictures taken in April of 2009

Next will be moving the shed and trucking in some much needed top soil so that we can actually get some grass in the yard. I'll post more pictures then.

I'm moving up in the world...

I suppose I'll join the band wagon and begin the crazy life of blogging. The problem is, I'm not so sure I have much to talk about or much time to to post. We shall see how this goes.

I'll begin by updating you all on what has been happening lately. I feel like I've been working non-stop, but at the same time it doesn't feel much like actual work. I put in about 40-45 hours baking for Stoltzfus Meats Wednesday through Saturday. On Mondays and Tuesdays I bake for my Aunt Sadie, which ends up being about 10 hours between the two days. On top of all that, I help my dad out with some office work about every other Monday and keep track of the books for our investment company. So that is the work aspect of my life and really there isn't much else to talk about cause frankly there isn't much time for anything else.

Speaking of time... it's almost 10:30, which is way past my bedtime for a Wednesday night. I have to be up early tomorrow, so I think I'll cut this short for tonight. I promise there is more to talk about, but for now you'll just have to be glad that I took the jump into this world.

'til next time.
